The Emoji Movie

mercredi 16 août 2017

After watching two movies at the Ward Theater (The Dark Tower and Dunkirk) on Sunday (8/13/17) I decided for the heck of it go for a third movie. The next movie that was playing soon that I planning on seeing was The Emoji Movie. This one I saw alone since the other two movie friends had other plans.

I sort of wished I had some Diet Coke with me because there were times I started to snooze, not because I was bored but rather I was sort of tried. Any way the movie was light fluff comedy with some adventure inside of a kid's smartphone as some of the emoji in the phone are trying to fix themselves before the kid's resets the phone and erases them from existence.

There was also a short film before the main movie started that dealt the characters from Hotel Transylvania.

The Dark Tower

Saw the movie The Dark Tower with a couple of friends on Sunday morning (8/13/17) at the Ward Theater.

If you are the type of person that likes a mixture of action, adventure, fantasy, science fiction, travel by portal, some light horror, some low key humor, a head villain that kills off the henchman that fails him and a wounded hero that gets back into action in a day thanks to this planet's vitamins, painkillers and a can of regular Coke-Cola then this movie should be the ticket for you.

Baa Baa Land

vendredi 11 août 2017

Was looking thru the main page of Wikipedia when I saw this entry in the Did you know... section:

Quote:

... that Baa Baa Land, an eight-hour slow cinema film containing nothing but long shots of grazing sheep, is described by its producers as "the dullest movie ever made"?
I checked out their entry and also the IMDb entry and found out the following:

It opens September 2017 in the United Kingdom
No dialogue
One of the movie posters says Nothing Happens ... For Eight Hours, Glorious! and then it says Better Than Any Sleeping Pill - The Ultimate Insomnia Cure.

No idea at this time if this movie is coming to Hawaii or not.

Would you go or wait for the DVD to come out?

"Salvation" on CBS

vendredi 4 août 2017

I only saw two episodes of the CBS 2017 Summer series called Salvation.

It is about an asteroid that is about to hit the Earth in about six months, too small and too far to be seen by the naked eye but big enough to wipe all life on Earth when it hits.

The trouble is while some parts of the US government knows about the upcoming asteroid, anyone else who stumbles upon the asteroid or the steps the government is taking to deal with the matter tend to either disappear or get killed.

While the series airs on Wednesday night on CBS you can see the previous episodes on the CBS web site.

Right now I am just rubber necking this series just to see how it plays out.
